Living Creatively

I am a ceramic artist living in Coastal Northern California. I create functional wares for daily ritual. Inspired by the rugged coastline and natural world which infuses my daily life, I take example from those things that give pause, allowing a subtle shift in perspective to focus on the present moment. Bringing ceremony to daily routine.

I’m interested foremost in function and ease of use in my pottery. I appreciate soft textures that highlight the intimacy of the held object and inspire connection to the experience of touch while nourishing oneself.

My work is also grounded in simple visual attraction and painted surface. The way a dogwood branch cradles its blossom and bud, sea foam forming sand, and the rolling pebbles as a wave crashes to shore, or a flighty songbird, as it flits into my visual field before disappearing.

These are the things that inform my every day, and I hope to impart some sense of wonder and reflection in the daily routine of the user.
